City Study Group not only believes in the sound education progress of international students but also, once students complete their education that they should be able to embark upon a career of their choice with the minimum of time and effort. Deciding what to do after completing higher education is best thought about ahead of graduation can be confusing, especially as young graduates are often not familiar with the world of employment This is where City Study Group counsellors come in – all our counsellors have considerable experience in advising young graduates about their career choices.

The process starts with a detailed questionnaire that is sent out to all recent graduates. This helps us to know in–depth detail about our graduates’ academic background, final qualifications obtained, if they undertook any internship, and their current interest areas, including any extra-curricular activities. At this time we also review issues such as if you would prefer to work outdoors or indoors, or if you prefer sociable environments or those with a minimum of interaction. Once we know all this, we will have a fair idea of what kind of career might be most suitable and rewarding for you. During this time we also meet with graduates face-to-face so that any career preferences can be discussed.

After this one-to-one consultation session, we will provide a report which outlines information on what careers will be best suited to the graduate in relation to their preferences. We also advise if we feel it would be better for a student to continue with higher education ; for example if research work is a preferred career choice,
